Search & local SEO

The map pack still books the job. It just isn't the finish line anymore.

Organic and local search remain the highest-intent channel most small businesses have — and organic strength is now also a primary input into which businesses AI assistants trust. We build it as the foundation, not the legacy channel.

Is SEO still worth it for a small business in 2026?

Yes, but the reason changed. Total organic clicks are down — about 68% of Google searches now end without a click. What survives is high-intent local search, where someone needs a service today, and the map pack still converts extremely well. Organic authority also feeds AI citations, so SEO now pays twice.

What does local SEO actually involve?

Four things that matter and a long tail that mostly doesn't. A properly built and maintained Google Business Profile. Consistent name, address and phone data across the web. Service and service-area pages with genuine local substance. And a steady, real review flow. Most local SEO retainers bill for the tail and neglect those four.

What we build

The four things that move local rankings

Google Business Profile, done properly

Correct primary and secondary categories, complete service list, service area set to where you actually go, real photos on a schedule, Q&A seeded with the questions people ask, posts that aren't filler. It's the single highest-leverage local asset and it's almost always half-finished.

Pages with real local substance

A service-area page that names the roads, the lakes, the soil, the housing stock, the seasonal pattern — and reads like someone who's worked there wrote it. Not thirty pages of the same paragraph with the town swapped. Google has been able to spot that for years; assistants ignore it entirely.

Technical foundation

Fast static pages, clean crawlable structure, correct canonicals, accurate sitemaps, full schema. Rarely the reason you're winning; frequently the reason you're stuck. We fix it once, early, and it stops being a topic.

Reviews and citations

A system that reliably asks at the right moment, plus consistent listings across the directories and review platforms that matter in your category. Assistants read these heavily when deciding who to recommend, which makes them an AEO input as much as an SEO one.

Where we differ

We build depth agencies price out. Twenty service-area pages that each say something true and specific about that town used to be a budget conversation. It isn't anymore, so it's standard — and it's most of the gap between a site that ranks in one town and one that owns a region.

We build for both readers. Every page is structured to rank and to be extractable by an assistant. Same build, two channels — which is why we don't sell “SEO” and “AEO” as separate line items.

We report in jobs. Rankings are a leading indicator, not the product. The monthly read is enquiries, calls, and where they came from. If rankings improve and the phone doesn't, that's a problem to solve, not a slide to celebrate.

Straight answers

More on search

How long does local SEO take?

Expect first movement in four to eight weeks — usually from Google Business Profile and technical fixes, which act fastest. Meaningful ranking change in competitive terms typically lands between three and six months. Anyone quoting faster on competitive organic terms is either guessing or planning to churn you before you notice.

Do I need a new website?

Usually not. An older domain carries authority worth keeping, and most sites can be fixed in place. We rebuild when the platform genuinely blocks results: it's too slow to fix, can't be edited structurally, or can't carry schema. The diagnostic tells you which case you're in before you spend anything.

Should I still pay for SEO if AI is taking the clicks?

Yes — but for a rebalanced reason. The informational traffic is genuinely going away and shouldn't be your target. The “I need this service now, near me” searches are holding up, still convert best, and the same authority that wins them is what gets you cited inside AI answers.

Tell us the bottleneck. We'll tell you what we'd do.

Every engagement starts the same way: a 20-minute call, then a written read on where your customers are actually looking for you and what it would take to be the answer they find.

You'll get a straight recommendation — including "you don't need us for this," when that's the honest answer. If a Lead Network already covers your trade and territory, we'll say so, because that's the faster route and you'd rather know.

No pitch deck. A 20-minute call and a written read on your situation.
